Caleb Ewan gains his first stage win in Giro d’Italia after which he is hoping to repeat his run of success in Tour de France. However, it would be the 2018 event that he would be working on, being a sprinter of Orica-Scott team.

Having secured a win in the seventh stage of the Giro d’Italia, Caleb Ewan says that he dreams of taking to the Grand Tour race of Tour de France. Being 22 years of age and hailing from Australia, he was exuberant about his win. He stated that every cyclist dreams of working towards the Grand Tour and that is something he hopes to win in 2018.

He knows that he is yet to reach the best of his potential and hence there is a lot that he needs to work towards. However the win in the Giro was helpful in bolstering his confidence. He knows that this is a work in progress and is hopeful that by next year he would be a sprinter capable of taking on the other best competitors in the Grand Tour.

Ewan was helped by his team mates like Adam Yates and he recognizes their contribution to the success he experienced in the Giro d’Italia. On the first day Ewan gained second position in the bunch sprint. There were close calls in the next stages which were frustrating for him. He stated that he had been looking for a stage win and the pressure had been building for quite some time. The victory that he gained was a big relief as he wanted to pay back to his team mates for the effort that everyone put in. Though Caleb will not be participating in Tour de France this year, there are many who would be moving on with preparations for the Tour de France race next.
